NEET 2017 - Analysis, Key & Solutions

NEET 2017, the sole entrance examination through which admissions to all medical colleges under the Medical Council of India, was conducted on 7th May 2017 in offline mode in centres within India and abroad. Around 12 lakh students had applied and this means NEET has become the largest entrance examination in India.

NEET 2017 was conducted from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. There were four booklet versions - P, Q, R & S. Subject order in each version was different. Questions and answer choices were also jumbled in these four versions.

The test had 180 questions - 45 questions in Physics, 45 in Chemistry and 90 in Biology. All were of 'Single Answer Multiple Choice Question' type. Each question, 4 marks will be awarded for correct response and for each incorrect response, 1 mark will be deducted. Hence, the maximum marks for the paper is 720.

Overall, the paper was moderately difficult.
