IBPS  has released the notification for  PO/MT CWE 2025 (CWE PO/MT - XIV) for recruitment of POs/MTs (GBO) in 11 Public Sector Banks. Plethora of changes seen in the paper pattern. 

• Prelims: Distribution of marks across Quant and Reasoning Sections changed, variable marking scheme introduced.

• Mains: Major changes in distribution of questions and marks, except in the English Section

• GA Section of Mains: Inclusion of  Digital/ Financial Awareness including RBI circulars, along with General/Economy/Banking Awareness in GA Section

• Descriptive Writing: Comprehension and Essay instead of Letter and Essay (This line has been included as a note - " May be broadly based on Economic and Social issues, emerging trends in Banking and Technology, Current events, Ethics etc." This implies that students should now focus on daily Hindu Editorial and also on RBI circulars.

• Personality Test included before the Interviews. It is of non-qualifying in nature

The tentative number of vacancies  announced are 5208 as against 3955 announced in 2024 and 3049 announced in 2023 Notifications. Three out of Eleven major  Banks have not yet reported the vacancies. There will definitely be a significant increase in the number of vacancies after the final allotment is done under this recruitment drive.

2. Eligibility Criteria:

(a) Age (As on 01.07.2025) - 20 - 30 Years

(b) Min educational qualification (As on 21.07.2025) - Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.

Note :  The candidate must possess a valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/ she is a graduate on the day he / she registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.

(3) Structure of Examination (ONLINE):

(a) Pattern of Exam:

(I)  Preliminary Examination (Online Test):  The test will have three Objective  Tests (with separate timings for each section) as follows: 

Note : Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS.

(II) Main Examination (Online Test): This will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 25 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer a Descriptive test by typing on the computer. Immediately after completion of the Objective Test, a Descriptive Test will be administered. 

(i) Objective Test: The objective test of 3 hours duration consists of 4 Sections for a total 200 marks. 

(ii) Descriptive Test:  The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with two questions for 25 marks will be a Test of English Language (Comprehension & Essay) (May be broadly based on Economic and Social issues, emerging trends in Banking and Technology, Current events, Ethics etc.)

(b)  Penalty for wrong answers : There will be negative marks (Prelim and Main Exams) for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. 

(c)  MARKS OBTAINED IN THE ONLINE MAIN EXAMINATION ONLY WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR SHORTLISTING FOR  PERSONALITY TEST 7 INTERVIEW AND ALSO FOR FINAL MERIT LISTING

(d) Personality Test: Candidates who qualify in the Main examination will be called for a Personality Test (self-report). Personality Profile of the candidates will be placed before the Interview panel. The Personality Test will be non-qualifying in nature. However, appearing in the Personality Test will be mandatory for being eligible for appearing for the Interview process

(e) Interview: Candidates who have been short listed in Main Examination will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations. Interviews will be conducted at select centres. The centre, address of the venue, time & date of Interview will be informed to the short listed candidates in the call letter. Candidates are required to download their interview call letters www.ibps.in

(f) Interview Marks : The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview is 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of CWE ( Main Exam) and interview will be 80:20.

(4) How to apply: 

Candidates can apply online only from  01.07.2025 to 21.07.2025  and no other mode of application will be accepted. The fee can be paid in ONLINE mode only

(5) Application fees / Intimation charges: 
(a) Rs. 175/- for SC/ST/PWBD candidates. (inclusive of GST)

(b) Rs. 850 /- for all others (inclusive of GST)
