Hi! If you have access to any library, try reading magazines on varied subjects: psychology, nature, history, medical journals. Secondly, it will be even better if at times you read the articles not from beginning but somewhere in middle, pick up a para & start reading it, randomly. Helps in building comprehension. For solving RC thr r various ways to solve the passages. Check out what works best fr u. (u cn revert back fr more info)

it's just when I am at home I have a good comprehension but during the aimcats i lose my concentration... it seems the passsages in the AIMCATs donot conform to my mind or may be the other way round

Hi! Most of the magazines have their online sections. You can try McKinseyQuarterly.com, or other magazines but make sure you read varied stuff.... anything & everything tht comes ur way - medical journals, research papers, history, religion.

Hi Mani! Pick up the WRen & Martin Grammar book (for class X) and make sure u pick up the Solution booklet of exercises as well. Ensure tht you solve exercises to stress ur basics & check in solution booklet. although time consuming but i dont think thr r much shortcuts.

as far i notice just for great vocab just read out all the vocab cards given by the time if there are 20 on a card u will atleast 15 already known when u try to revise it next time ,it helps me reading the newspapers a lot,it just requires bit amount of cramming and there is another option for vocab just read out word power made easy by norman lewis every word told here with roots01c08 |

Hi, VA is a very vague area it is really tough to gauge whether you are good at it or not... what one should so is try and map out a performance chart and work on ur weak areas... don't go by the preconcieved notions that you've had since school...one might think RCs and vocab are tough areas and grammar is easy...when actually we probably end up scoring more in RCs... try gauging ur performance thru practice papers.. these include class handouts , AIMCATS and VA book that have been given to us.. while attempting these try marking the answers in the same way u would in a real life situation.. Then analyse the following 1.Attempted correct(+ve) 2.Attempted incorrect(-ve) 3.Non Attempted correct(-ve) 4.Non Attempted incorrect(+ve) Try keeping a track record and gauge if u are improvong or not.. your 1. and 4. should increase and the other two should decrease... Try it it works for me If i see stagnation or no progress I read more practise more.. somehow it has helped me.. try it i hope it works.. Cheers!
