MH CET Law (3 Yr. LL.B) was conducted in online format on 21st May, 2017 for admissions to various LAW schools in Maharashtra. The duration of the paper was 120 minutes and there was no sectional time limit. There were a total of 150 questions over 4 sections with no negative marking.

Let us analyse each of these sections in detail:

Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning

There were a total of 30 questions in this section. All the questions were from legal reasoning and questions on Legal GK were not there. Questions were mostly straight forward and easy in nature. This section had questions from various topics like contracts, torts, Criminal law, Constitution, Family law, Property law, Arbitration, Consumer protection, etc. About 25-27 questions could have been easily attempted and can be considered as a reasonably good number of attempts.

General Knowledge and Current Affairs

About 60 percent of the questions were from current affairs and the remaining were from Static GK. As usual, the current affairs mainly had questions from polity, awards, personalities, sports, world news, etc. The questions from Static GK were from economy, polity, various establishments, etc. An attempt of 26-28 can be considered a good number of attempts in this section.

Logical & Analytical Reasoning

This section had questions from seating arrangements (linear, circular), blood relationship, direction sense, coding-decoding, syllogisms, data sufficiency. A few questions were relatively lengthier. A serious candidate could have attempted 21-23 questions in this section.

English

The questions were from vocabulary, para jumbles, phrase replacement, sentence correction, and cloze test. Two RC passages with 10 questions each were also there. Overall the section was an easier one. One could have attempted about 37-39 questions in this section.

Expected Cut-off

The score is expected to be around 108-113 for the top Law colleges.
