When the notification for IBPS PO was announced in August 2024, the number of vacancies mentioned in the notification were 3955, where few Banks did not report vacancies at that time. After the final result was announced on 1st April and the provisional allotments done, the intake was 6344. The details are given below.

The same trend has been continuing  for IBPS PO from many years, that the intake at the time of provisional allotment is much more, almost more than 40-50% when compared to the vacancies announced in the notification. Aspirants need not be disheartened if the vacancies announced in notification are less, say around 3000 or 3500, because this number is likely to increase very much after the provisional allotment is done.
