Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) is perhaps the only example in the history of the Indian corporate world of an Indian company founded in India (Mumbai) by foreigners. Two Danes, Mr Henning Holck-Larsen and Mr Soren Kristian Toubro, founded L&T in 1938 after they completed an assignment for which they were sent to India by a Danish company they were working for.

Performance Appraisal Policy

Employee performance is appraised on an annual basis, giving people credit for their achievements and setting targets for the forthcoming year. A balanced policy has been developed that is both objective and holistic in its approach. The HRD personnel facilitate the appraisal process and also train senior personnel in assessing individual performance.
