As far as lateral placements are concerned, 126 offers were made by the recruiters, out of which 108 were accepted by the students.
In the Consulting domain, Bain & Company (17 offers), Accenture Strategy (16 offers), Deloitte (14 offer), The Boston Consulting Group (13 offers), A T Kearney (11 offers) and McKinsey & Co (8 offers) were the top recruiters this year. Other prominent recruiters in this space were ZS, EXL, KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers. In the IT Consulting domain, all prominent recruiters like IBM and Capgemini recruited from the campus.
Conglomerates such as Aditya Birla Group , Tata Administrative Services (TAS), Reliance Industries Ltd, Mahindra Group, CK Birla, Larsen & Toubro, Future Group, Siemens and General Electric recruited in significant numbers for Leadership and General Management roles.
The average domestic salary offered during the final placements was whopping 21.03 lacs p.a. The median salary offered to the batch was 20 lacs p.a. With this IIM Bangalore has created a new record by becoming the first Indian B-school to achieve an average salary of more than 21 lacs p.a.! ( among the B-schools which have released their final placement report for 2016 ).
