NMAT 2016 (Day 2, Slot 2), as expected , was free from any surprises or technical glitches and was similar to the previous year's exam in terms of its structure.. The difficulty level of the paper was moderate. There were three sections with no negative marking and the students were free to decide on the sequence of attempting the sections as well.
As far as total number of attempts is concerned, one could have solved around 82-85 questions in 120 minutes and the rest of the questions with calculated and educated guesswork (since there was no negative marking).
Quantitative SkillsOut of 48 questions in the Quantitative Skills section, 22 questions were based on problem solving from diverse areas in quant like Arithmetic, Numbers, Geometry, P&C etc, 20 questions were on Data Interpretation, and the remaining 6 questions were from Data Sufficiency.
The majority of the questions were of easy to moderate level of difficulty. Out of five DI sets, three were highly calculation intensive. The other two DI sets were relatively less calculative.

Language SkillsOut of 32 questions in the Language skills section, there were two RC passages with four questions each. The passages were moderately lengthy and had about 450-650 words. The remaining question types were in verbal ability part.

As mentioned in the beginning , an attempt of 82-85 questions can be considered a good number of overall attempts. All in all, the paper was alomst similar to last year’s paper.
