Dear Student,
Greetings!!
Few days from now (4th Dec to be precise), you will be taking one of the most important decision of your life which may act as the foundation of your professional life. You will be writing CAT on this day and this day will be testing you on all the parameters be it the preparation, efforts and hardwork you may have put. The feeling itself of writing CAT gives a sort of shiver in the spine, that the day is about to come for which we were waiting for, for which we were putting so much of efforts, the day which will test the mental strength of the student. Will we be able to succeed, will we be able to come out with flying colours, will it go as per your expectations? Would there be any change in number of questions? Suddenly, all of it looks very uncertain and with that we tend to lose out confidence, focus and stamina owning to this uncertainty.
“It always seems impossible until it's done."- Nelson Mandela
History has taught us many things in our life and on the basis of this learning only you can see that we are able to push ourselves to have a comfortable life be it in the area of Science & Technology or Medicine or even in our own personal life. In the past we have seen many instances where result/outcome of the battle has been reversed just because the person/s who were involved felt that that they can do it and work on the same with same consciousness and perseverance. Otherwise who would have thought that Mahatma Gandhi (just one man) can turn the tables for the British Govt., Amitabh Bachchan would not have been Amitabh Bachchan if he would have quit after getting rejected from all sides including by All India Radio because of his heavy voice. Who can forget the success stories of Thomas Edison and Albert Einstein despite of the failure and odd circumstances they had in their childhood.
“Every great story on the planet happened when someone decided not to give up, but kept going on no matter what.” – Spryte Loriano.
Since our childhood we have been fed to be successful and the definition of success to us is that it primarily gets evaluated with your ranking in the queue be it in the school or college or anything else. I guess, success is not only this and is much bigger and beyond this ranking as well. First thing we need to understand here is that whenever we talk about being successful we are talking about the net result of an activity. Now, result is something which is beyond our control we can only control the inputs. Eg. We can control how much we are going to study or how sincerely we are going to study, how much efforts we are going to put etc. but despite of controlling all these inputs we cannot dictate that I will be getting this result as we are not too sure about the efforts put by others and moreover all the times it is relative in nature. So, let’s forget about the result or the percentile we are going to get, let’s forget about what others are going to say or react, let’s bring the passion once again, let’s recollect all the energy we have, let’s recall our first day in the class and the energy we had, let’s reignite the flame of fire and rock it.
“ When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you’ll be successful." – Eric Thomas
Each and every student who started his journey and have put best of his efforts is successful as we discussed earlier that it’s not the result but the efforts and the passion with which we put our efforts makes us winner. So, even if you are not able to score the percentiles as per your expectations, do not worry about it. Do not think about it. Just go and give best of your efforts on the D-day! Remember, this D-day you will be taking an important step. Life is not going to stop here, life will flow and finds its own way the way you want and it’s your life and you are doing things because you want it and not because you want it to prove to anybody else. So, go for it!
