  2. Established in 1991, MICA (formerly known as Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad), is a residential institute dedicated to creating Leadership in Strategic Marketing and Communication. MICA is an autonomous, non-profit institution.

    T.I.M.E. counts it among the “AA” grade B-schools.

  3. What is flagship program of MICA? What are the other programs it offers?

  4. PGDM (Communications) is regarded as their flagship program. Its a 2 year residential program, which offers specializations in Marketing Research, Digital Communication Management, Brand Management, Media Management and Advertising Management.

    PGDM is the second 2 year full time post graduate program at Mica.The PGDM program is uniquely positioned to leverage MICA’s core competence in Strategic Marketing, while also delving deeper into the fields of Digital marketing, Design, Data, Creativity and Innovation that are essential to the success of any organization today.

  7. What is the eligibility criteria?

  8. Admission to the Post-graduate Programmes (PGP), both PGDM (C) and PGDM require a Bachelor's degree (10 + 2 + 3 system) or an equivalent qualification in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

    Candidates appearing for the final year bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.

  9. What is the fee structure of these programs?

  10. The cost for the two year Post Graduate Diploma programmes, including Tuition Fees, Residential Charges, Infrastructure Facility Charges etc. is Rs. 26,00,000 (approx).

  11. Ideally speaking who should join PGDM (Comm ) program?

  12. Candidates interested in making a career in advertisement industry, brand management, media, PR agencies, Journalism etc should pursue this program.

  13. Which entrance test scores are accepted by MICA for admission into PGDM (C) and PGDM programs?

  14. It is mandatory for the applicants to appear for any one of the exams among CAT/ XAT/ GMAT. The candidates will also have to appear for the MICAT exam, where the candidates will have to go through 3 sections.

  15. When will MICAT exam be conducted? What is the application fee?

  16. MICAT is a Computer Based Test (CBT) and will be conducted twice for selection of PGDM-C and PGDM 2025-2027 batches.

    • MICAT 1- December 7, 2024 (Saturday)
    • MICAT 2- January 25, 2025 (Saturday)

    MICAT Application Fee is Rs. 2100.

  19. What is psychometric test?

  20. Psychometric tests are a standard and scientific method used to measure individuals' mental capabilities and behavioural style. Psychometric tests are designed to measure candidates' suitability for a role based on the required personality characteristics and aptitude (or cognitive abilities).

  21. How are applicants shortlisted for GE-PI stage? How is the final selection of candidates done?

  22. The selection process for PGDM-C and PGDM 2025-27 at MICA has three steps:

    Step 1: Each candidate must have taken at least one of the three exams (MANDATORY): CAT/ XAT/GMAT (CAT 2024 / XAT 2025 / GMAT (2023 onwards).

    Step 2:  MICA Admission Test (MICAT).

    All candidates are assessed on MICAT, which consists of 3 sections

    • Section A: Psychometric Test
    • Section B: Descriptive Test
    • Section C: (has 4 sub-sections) – Divergent and Convergent Thinking; Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation and General awareness

    Step 3: All the candidates shortlisted on the basis of their performance in CAT/XAT/GMAT & MICAT shall appear for both Group Exercise (GE) & Personal Interview (PI).

    Merit List Preparation

    Detailed below are the steps for preparation of the Final Merit List:

    Section A (Psychometric test) is first checked. This section is a qualifier.

    Those who qualify through section A, their relative performance on CAT/XAT/GMAT is considered. A minimum cut-off in CAT /XAT total percentile/GMAT score shall be considered (Best of the three scores is considered.)

    Those who qualify based on the CAT/XAT/GMAT performance, their Section C (all sub-sections) of MICAT will be assessed.

    Section C scores are normalized. The evaluation uses percentile and raw scores for each sub-section and requires a minimum cut-off.

    Those who qualify through section C, their performance in Section B is evaluated. NOTE: Both Sections C & B have a sectional cut-off (percentile and raw scores).

    Those who qualify through Steps 1, 2 and 3 will be considered for GE & PI short listing. Short listed candidates will be called for GE and PI at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata or Mumbai.

    Candidates who appear in GE & PI MUST be RECOMMENDED by majority number of the interview panellists, to be considered for the final merit list

    NOTE: All those who meet the criteria described above, their final composite score shall be created based on the following weightage:

    • CAT/XAT/GMAT: 35%
    • MICAT: 25%
    • GE: 10%
    • PI: 20%
    • 10th,12th, Graduation: 5% (10th-1.75%; 12th-1.75%; Graduation-1.5%) (Kindly go through Grade calculation method for more information*)
    • Extra-Curricular, sports, academic diversity, gender diversity etc: 5% (This Information will be filled separately at the time of GE & PI)

    Offer letters will be sent to candidates who feature in the final merit. If you do not accept the offer by the date mentioned in the offer letter, your name will automatically be removed from the merit list of the program.
