IIM-Sambalpur, in the state of Orrissa, officially opened the institute for the academic session 2015-16 on 23rd September. The institute will temporarily operate from the campus of the Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur 

 As of now, IIM Sambalpur will offer the two year PGP programme only. The orientation programme for the PGP 2015-17 batch was held on 23rd September. 49 students have enrolled in the first batch of the institute.

 Till the full-time faculty are recruited, faculty from IIM- Indore and visiting faculty members will conduct classes for the students.

 IIM Indore officials have expressed satisfaction over the infrastructure facilities available on the temporary campus.
