The summer placements for PGP/MBA/PGDM ( 2018-20 ) students have begun on a positive note. Most of the top B-schools finished the entire process in a very short period of time. There has been a huge upswing in the average stipend offered to the students. This year all the top B-schools are seeing a huge increase in the number of top MNCs recruiting students.
FMS Delhi saw huge demand for their students among the recruiters. The average stipend this time was Rs 1,01,400, which is 17 percent more than last year’s. The highest stipend offered was Rs 4 lakh for two months.
XLRI Jamshedpur has completed its Summer Internship process for their PGDBM and PGDHRM batch of 2018-20. The entire batch was placed within 48 hours! The highest stipend offered was Rs 1.65 lakh per month!
In IIM-Lucknow sales and marketing accounted for 28 percent of placements which was followed by consulting at 22 percent and e-commerce accounted for 19 percent of placements. Finance and general management were at 17 and 11 percent, respectively.
IIFT also saw the huge turnout of big MNCs during the summer placement process this year. 90 companies participated in the process. The average stipend offered to their MBA-IB students was whopping 1.48 lacs. Tata Group remained a major recruiter with group companies making 15 offers across functions like sales and marketing, finance, general management, and operations. Sixteen students secured international offers across locations like Thailand, Africa, Singapore, and the Middle East. The highest stipend offered was Rs 1,60,000 per month.
This kind of placement scenario goes on to affirm the huge demand that exists in the corporate world for MBA graduates from premier B-schools.
