IIM Trichy moves to permanent state of the art campus

The Indian Institute of Management-Trichy has moved to its own permanent campus near the Bharathidasan University.The campus is spread on a sprawling 170 acres of land and is only 13 kilometres away from the Trichy International Airport.

Built at an estimated cost of Rs 772 crore near Chinna Suriyur village on the Trichy-Pudukkottai road, the complex has world class amenities, with hostels to accommodate around 400 students and also has staff quarters.

Indian Institute of Management-Trichy, which was instituted on January 4, 2011 was previously functioning from the NIT Trichy campus.

Technologically equipped smart classrooms, World class library, Elegantly furnished air-conditioned hostels, 24x7 Wi-Fi, Battery operated cars for differently abled, are some of the noteworthy features of the new campus.

It is a self-sufficient gated community with a 2 Megawatt Solar Power Plant, 100% rain water harvesting system, moreover around 2,000 saplings had been nurtured for planting on the new campus. Besides beautifying the campus, it is expected to create a cool atmosphere, which makes it a state of the art environmentally green campus.

Among the new IIMs, IIM Udaipur and IIM Kashipur have moved to their permanent campuses, the other new IIMs ( Ranchi, Rohtak and Raipur ) are also expected to follow suit soon.
