Section C : Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation
The set was a mix of manageable and difficult questions, testing conceptual understanding and application. The questions were tricky in nature and required quick thinking.
There were 6 questions that were relatively easy - Prof Mandal going to the market, circular pool, Mr Mehra planning for his children, 3 people reading a document, points on the sides of a square, and minimum value of the expression. . One needed to pick the quick method in solving them. A good student who is in touch with the course material should have been able to solve these.
There were 8 questions of medium difficulty - taxis plying in Wasseypur, six cards on a table, p and q are positive integers, numbers containing a 2, maximum value involving p, q and r, DI set data points on Indian GDP. 4-5 of these questions could have been attempted succesfully.
These would have been possible in 45 minutes and would have taken the test-taker past the expected cut-off score of 10 marks (85 percentile) for the section. The key was in quick thinking and identifying the questions that would be quicker to solve.
