The Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Entrance Test (EAMCET) was the common entrance examination for admissions to Engineering courses, MBBS/ BDS and other Medical allied courses in the erstwhile combined state of Andhra Pradesh.

Presently the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh conduct the EAMCET examination separately – namely TS-EAMCET and AP-EAMCET respectively. In general the two exam patterns, syllabuses, eligibility criteria, procedure of admissions all remain very similar to each other.

The EAMCET (AP & TS) Engineering examination caters to all engineering admissions (B.Tech) including B.Tech in Bio Technology, Dairy Technology, Agricultural engineering and Food Science and Technology.

With the introduction of NEET as the common entrance to all MBBS and BDS admissions, the EAMCET (AP & TS) Medical examination caters to admissions in B.Sc (Agriculture), B.Sc (Horticulture), B.V.Sc & A.H., B.F.Sc., B Pharmacy and D.Pharm. Eligibility for EAMCET

Nationality:

a. Candidates should be of Indian Nationality or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) / Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders.

b. Candidates should belong to the state of Telangana / Andhra Pradesh. The candidates should satisfy Local /Non-Local status requirements

Qualifying Examination:

a. Candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optionals or related vocational courses in the fields of Engineering and Technology.

OR

Candidates should have passed or appeared at the final year of the Diploma examination in Engineering conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana / Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana / Andhra Pradesh.

Age criteria:

a. In the case of Engineering courses, candidates should have completed 16 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission. There is no upper age limit.

b. In the case of B.Tech. (Dairy Technology), B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering), B.Tech. (Food Science & Technology) and B.Sc. (Agricultural Engineering), candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission and an upper age limit of 22 years for all the candidates and 25 years in respect of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates as on 31st December of the year of Admissions.

Syllabus for EAMCET

Syllabus as prescribed in the 2017 brochure of TS-EAMCET and AP-EAMCET are exactly same as the syllabus prescribed in earlier years by the common EAMCET examination. Please click on the separate links below to see a detailed EAMCET syllabus.

Pattern of EAMCET examination

Till 2016 both states had the EAMCET exam in offline mode only; in 2017 AP-EAMCET was conducted in online mode. From 2018 onwards both the exams AP-EAMCET and TS-EAMCET (Engineering and Medical) are conducted only in online mode.

Number of questions:

The online exams are of duration 180 minutes and have a total of 160 questions. EAMCET engineering exams have the following scheme:

Mathematics – 80 qns.; Physics – 40 qns.; Chemistry – 40 qns.

Marking scheme:

All questions are Multiple choice type with four options of which there is a single correct answer. Each correct answer carries one mark. There is NO negative marking for incorrect answers.

Language of the question paper:

The bilingual question paper contains questions in English and Telugu only. Candidates, who have studied the qualifying examination in Urdu medium and wish to avail assistance for translating the questions into Urdu, will be allotted a Test Centre at Kurnool only for AP-EAMCET and Test Centre at Hyderabad only for TS-EAMCET.

Qualifying marks and Ranking

The qualifying percentage of marks for the EAMCET exams is 25% of the maximum marks and all such candidates would be considered for ranking. However, for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe, no minimum qualifying mark is prescribed. But their admission will be limited to the extent of seats reserved for such categories.

Candidates who have secured qualifying marks in EAMCET (for SC/ST candidates, qualifying marks have not been prescribed) shall be assigned ranking in the order of merit on the basis of combined score obtained by giving 75% weightage to the marks secured in EAMCET and 25% weightage to the marks secured in the relevant group subjects.

Tie-break in EAMCET Engineering:

1. For the preparation of merit list, in case of a tie it shall be resolved by considering
2. The total marks secured in EAMCET
3. The Marks secured in mathematics in EAMCET
4. The marks secured in Physics in EAMCET
5. The Percentage of Aggregate marks secured in the qualifying examination
6. If the tie still persists, the older (based on date of birth) being given preference over the younger.

Pharma and Pharma‐D course, in Government / University / Private Aided /Private Un‐Aided Professional Educational Institutions in the State of Karnataka for the academic year 2018‐19.

Important dates: 

About Karnataka CET 2018 : 

Each subject paper was for 60 marks and for the duration of 80 min. There were 16 versions of the paper. 

Objective, multiple choice questions with 4 answer options. 

Each correct answer was awarded 1mark. No negative marking. 

The question papers of the CET would mostly based on the First and Second PUC syllabi prescribed by the Department of Pre-University Education of Karnataka State.

Karnataka CET 2017 Analysis :

Karnataka CET was conducted on 2nd and 3rd May 2017. About 1,85,541 candidates registered for the CET. On day 1 of the CET, May 2nd, Biology paper was conducted in the morning while Mathematics was conducted in the after noon.

Biology - Out of the registered 1,85,418, only 76.34% of aspirants took the exam - NEET being made mandatory for all medical admissions. Those who attempted were happy that the questions were direct and from the prescribed syllabus.

Mathematics - This paper saw the attendance at 96.55% - 1,79,029 candidates attempted it. Of the 60 questions, most were from second year PUC syllabus. This paper was termed as moderately difficult - but majority were easy with direct formula application.

Day 2 - May 3rd 2017.

Physics - Around 1,80,512 of the registered candidates attempted this paper. Candidates were happy that the paper covered all the topics and the question types were numerical/analytical and memory based.

Chemistry - 1,80,806 registered candidates attempted Chemistry paper. Most of the questions were theory based.

COMEDK UGET is the online computer based Undergraduate Entrance Test conducted by COMEDK (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka) for admission into the undergraduate engineering programme. Around 150 engineering colleges with 20,000 seats on offer use UGET 2017 results for admissions in UG Programme during the academic year 2017-2018.

UGET 2017will be held on 14/05/2017, Sunday.

Eligibility Criteria:

Qualifying exam is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent Examination recognized by State / Central Government with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) with English as a compulsory subject.

General category – 45% minimum aggregate marks

SC/ST/OBC Candidates of Karnataka State - 40%

Candidates should have passed the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) individually. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Computer Science or Electronics as one of the optional subjects.

An attempt in the Entrance Test seeking admission to Engineering courses is considered adequate for figuring in the Rank list.

Diploma candidates are not eligible to take the Entrance Test as there are no lateral entry admissions.

COMEDK UGET 2017 Test Timings:

• From 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM of 14th May 2017

Language of Question Paper:

The medium for examination shall be English or Marathi or Urdu for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. However, Mathematics paper shall be in English only.

Eligibility for admission to engineering and technology courses:

All the candidates passed / appearing at the qualifying examination i.e. HSC/12th Standard examination or its equivalent examination and having Indian Nationality are eligible for appearing for MHT-CET-2017. There is no age limit for admission.

Eligibility conditions and requirements for admissions into First Year - Engineering / Technology:

For a Maharashtra State Candidate.

1. The Candidate should be an Indian National;
2. Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects, and obtained at least required percentage of marks (as notified by the Government from time to time) in the above subjects taken together;
3. For a Maharashtra State Candidate - Obtained score in MHT-CET 2017 conducted by the Competent Authority.
4. For All India Candidates, Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidates - Obtained score in JEE(Main) Paper I or MHT-CET 2017.

Syllabi of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics for the MHTCET-2017 will be the same as for the current year for HSC Examination (i.e March 2017) of HSC Board of Maharashtra.

Examination Centre:

The MHT-CET 2017 will be conducted at all the district headquarters in the State of Maharashtra. The MHT-CET examination centre will be within the same district from where the candidate has passed / is appearing at the qualifying examination i.e. HSC / 12th Standard examination. The eligible candidates passing qualifying examination from outside the state of Maharashtra can select the examination centre of their choice while filling the online application form. The centre once allotted cannot be changed under any circumstances.

The Govt. of NCT of Delhi established its first University with the name Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in 1998. On the affiliation front, 02 Schools of Studies, namely, School of Engineering and Technology and School of Medicine and Para Medical Health Sciences are being maintained for providing leadership role to the programmes conducted under these Schools at affiliated institutions. In all, the University has 100 affiliated institutes; of these, 76 are self financed and 24 are owned and managed by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi/Govt. of India.

The admissions to the programmes of studies in the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) are primarily through common entrance tests (CET) conducted by the University or on merit of the qualifying degrees.

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE)

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board wis for the academic session 2017-2018, Common Entrance Examination for admission to Undergraduate Courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture in Universities, Govt. Colleges and Self Financed Institutes in the State.

Eligibility criteria for appearing in the WBJEE-2017:

a) Applicant must be a citizen of India.
b) The lower age limit is 17 (seventeen) years as on 31.12.2017

General Academic Criteria:

a) Candidate must have passed the ‘10+2’ examination with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry /Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular class mode.
b) Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above three subjects taken together.
c) Must have passed English in the ‘10+2’ examination with at least 30% marks

Paper-I - Mathematics and Paper-II - Physics & Chemistry combined.

All questions will be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type, with four options against each of the questions. Answers to be marked with blue/black ball point pen.

There will be three categories of questions in each of the subjects.

In Category I: Only one answer option is correct;
In Category-II: Only one answer option is correct;
In Category-III: One or more answer options are correct.

4. For any combination of response with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -1/4 (25% negative) marks.

1. Only one option is correct.

Category–III :

1. One or more options may be correct.
   
2. Only all Correct response will yield 2(two) marks.

4. For partially correct response, marks awarded will be = 2 x (no. of correct options marked x total no. of correct options).
   

Publication of Merit Lists:

The merit list is prepared based on the score of candidates appeared in all the subjects (i.e. mathematics, physics & chemistry) in the WBJEE-2017.

Separate reserved category merit rank will also be published for respective category of students e.g. SC Rank, ST Rank, OBC-A Rank, OBC-B Rank, PwD Rank, TFW Rank.

Tie-breaking Rule for Merit Rank List-I (GMR): applicable for Engineering Merit Rank

1. Less negative marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry taken together
2. More positive marks in Mathematics and Physics taken together
3. More positive marks in Mathematics and Chemistry taken together
4. Less negative marks in Mathematics and Physics taken together
5. Less negative marks in Mathematics and Chemistry taken together
6. More positive marks in Mathematics for only the 2 marks questions
7. More positive marks in Physics for only the 2 marks questions
8. More positive marks in Chemistry for only the 2 marks questions
9. Less negative marks in Mathematics for only the 2 marks questions
10. Less negative marks in Physics for only the 2 marks questions.

After application of the Tie-breaking Rules, if tie still exists, the older candidate will be given preference over the younger one.

Category of participating institutions and scope of admission:

There are five (5) Categories of Institutions participating (PI) in the admission system through the WBJEE-2017.

State funded/State aided Universities / Univ. Departments (U)

a) 100% seats in respect of all available courses shall be admitted through the WBJEE-2017.

b) The fees for study in such Institutions shall be guided by relevant Fee-Structure of respective Universities.

Government Engineering & Technology Colleges (G)

a) 100% seats in respect of all available courses shall be admitted through the WBJEE-2017.

b) The fees for study in such Institutions shall be guided by relevant Fee-Structure as may be defined by the State Government in the Higher Education Department.

Private & Self Financing Universities (PU)

The quantum of the seats available for admission through the WBJEE-2017 would be shown in the Seat Matrix by the WBJEE during the counseling and admission process.

Separate Fee-Structures are available for study in such Private & Self Financing Universities as may be defined by the respective Universities or by the State Government in the Higher Education Department.

Private & Self Financing Engineering & Technology Colleges- Non-Minority Institutions (P)

90% of the Seats will be available for admission through the WBJEE-2017 and the remaining 10% seats shall be available for admission through the All India Engineering Entrance Examination-2017 i.e. the JEE-Main-2017.

However, there may be some Institutions allowed to admit students under management quota (up-to a maximum of 10% seats). Admission to such seats will be made by respective Institution through the WBJEE-2017 and/or JEE Main-2017.

Separate Fee-Structures are available for study in such Private & Self Financing Institutions.

Private & Self Financing Engineering & Technology Colleges- Minority Institutions (PM)

50% of the seats will be available for admission through the WBJEE-2017. Admission to remaining 50% of the seats will be made through a separate Common Entrance Examination conducted by the Association of Minority Professional Academic Institutions (named as CEE-AMPAI).

Availability of seats under the Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme

1. This Scheme (TFW) is for meritorious and economically backward students domiciled in West Bengal for admission to all the participating institutes/universities. However, for Universities/University Departments, quantum of availability of such seats is under the discretion of the University Authorities.
2. For all the government as well as private & self financing Engineering /Technology /Pharmacy colleges, a maximum of 5% of sanctioned intake per course is available on supernumerary basis (over and above the sanctioned seats) for admission under TFW scheme.
3. Selection of candidates for the TFW scheme shall be decided on the basis of merit WBJEE-2017 and preference of eligible students in WBJEE-2017.
4. The student must be domiciled in West Bengal and the domicile certificate has to be produced during counseling and admission.
5. Total annual Family Income of the student from all sources must be less than Rs. 2.50 lakhs
6. The waiver is limited to the Tuition Fee only. All other fees will have to be paid by the beneficiary
